The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has called for applications for teaching vacancies in public primary, junior and secondary schools. P1 certificate holders in a past graduation ceremony. TSC is dangling 8,707 posts to replace teachers who exited service through natural attrition. According to the employer, there are 5,862 posts up for grabs in primary schools, 21 for junior schools and 2,824 for secondary schools.
The teachers recruited will serve on permanent and pensionable terms of service. Qualifications for TSC jobs To be considered, one must ; Be a Kenyan citizen; A holder of a P1 certificate in the case of primary schools; or a diploma in education in the case of junior and secondary schools; Be a registered teacher in the TSC directory; How to apply for new TSC vacancies Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through TSC’s official website; www.tsc.go.ke under ‘Careers’ or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke.
The application will run from December 31 through January 13, 2025. Once shortlisted, successful candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates. The TSC warned that submission of two or more application forms would lead to disqualification. Priority is to be given to the applicants who are yet to be employed by the government.
Which other posts is TSC recruiting for? At the same time, the TSC advertised 19,943 vacancies for senior teachers, deputy principals, senior lecturers, headteachers, senior headteachers, senior principals, chief principals and other managerial positions. TSC asked qualified candidates to submit their relevant academic and professional documents by Monday, December 30.
Needed are 44 chief principals for regular schools, three chief principals for TTCs, three Senior principals for regular schools, 126 Senior principals for TTCs, three principals for regular schools, 652 deputy principals (group I) for TTCs, three deputy principals (group II) for secondary schools, and 786 senior lecturers (group I) for TTCs.
Others are 13 deputy principals (group III) for regular schools, 1,408 senior lecturers (group II) for TTCs, 32 senior masters (group II) for SNE, two senior masters (group III) for regular schools, 1,987 senior lecturers (group III) for TTCs, 61 senior masters (group III) for secondary schools, six senior masters (group IV,
2,221 senior lecturers (group IV) for TTCs, 70 secondary teachers (diploma teachers only), 184 lecturers (group I), seven senior headteachers for regular schools, 254 senior headteachers for SNE, seven headteachers for regular schools, 2,130 headteachers for SNE primary schools, 33 deputy headteachers (group II) for regular primary schools, and 3,653 deputy headteachers (group II).
