Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has shared uplifting news about the recovery journeys of two former TV journalists, Eunice Omollo and Kimani Mbugua.   Eunice Omollo, previously with NTV, and Kimani Mbugua, a former Citizen TV journalist, have successfully overcome significant struggles, thanks to the efforts of the Mombasa Rehabilitation Centre, dedicated medical professionals, and God’s grace.

What did Sonko say after Omollo, Mbugua recovery?  Eunice is now set to embark on a fresh chapter, taking on a new role at K24 TV. Meanwhile, Kimani is fully healed and preparing to reunite with his family for the Christmas season.  “It is through God’s grace, the dedication of doctors, and the unwavering efforts of the Mombasa Rehabilitation team.

Their journeys are a true testament that recovery is possible with faith, care, and support. Special thanks to the Mombasa Women Rehabilitation Centre for transforming their lives,” Sonko expressed. Sonko also revealed that Congestina Achieng, a former boxing champion, is set to be discharged this week following her recovery journey. “We thank the Almighty God for their healing and restoration,” Sonko said.

“May God bless and guide them as they embrace their new beginnings.” During Mike Sonko’s visit, the trio expressed their gratitude to the philanthropic politician for his support and guidance throughout their six-month recovery journey.  Kimani Mbugua shared his plans to return to his career as a reformed individual, having successfully overcome his battle with mental illness.

“Kimani Mbugua is back, and we are going to see each other on the right channel. Not in that psychotic, violent, and shameful place that I was in then but in my right senses. Thank you so much for your support,” he affirmed.
