Political activist and Inject party leader Morara Kebaso reached out to Kenyans for assistance. The activist appealed to Kenyans for help in fixing a critical mechanical issue in his campaign vehicle.
Speaking on Friday, December 13, the outspoken leader, known for his activism and the popular ‘Vampire Diaries series, appealed to well-wishers to help raise funds or provide a replacement for a damaged brake system component. In a heartfelt video shared on his social platforms, Kebaso explained the dire state of the vehicle, highlighting the danger it posed.
“So there is something I am looking for that you can help me get. This vehicle of yours has something damaged; this is called the brake master cylinder and then this is called the actuator. This is what pumps brake fluid to help the brakes work. This thing is damaged in this vehicle, and it is usually located here.
So, when we drive this vehicle now, the brakes don’t work,” he explained, holding up the faulty components. How has Kebaso been operating without brakes Kebaso detailed the struggle of driving the vehicle in its current condition, adding that they’ve been relying on the handbrakes. “Whenever we try to stop the car, it doesn’t stop. Therefore, we only used the handbrake until it got here,” he stated.
The activist shared that his efforts to source the parts had been hindered by the high costs quoted by local shops. Despite the challenge, Kebaso maintained his characteristic humor, urging Kenyans to come to his aid so he could resume his activism. “So I’ve been searching for it online and talking to people who sell parts, but the price is quite crazy.
I was told KSh 150,000. We have called 5 shops so far, and the cost is quite high. So if you have this thing, help us. It’s this. This is the master cylinder brakes and this actuator; the one that pumps.
So if you can get this alone, this is what is damaged. It has damaged the motor, and we just have to replace it. If you can find this, you will have helped us a lot so that we can go back to the vampire diaries and not get stuck here,” he added.
