The judge warned the Director of Public Prosecutions from delaying the hearing of the case after the prosecution sought for an adjournedment. The trial was also attended by city preacher Victor Kanyari, who was accompanied by his friends and relatives.
What was Kanyari’s reaction to Matara? The pensive preacher looked visibly angry as he left the court promises, recounting how his late sister, who was found murdered in an Airbnb, was killed in a gruesome manner.
“How can you cut up another human bieng , you know that you were killing someone. Mtu anakata kata mtu shingo. Unakata kata mtu unajua ulikua unaua,” he could be heard saying. Muteti directed the DPP to avail all key witnesses on the next hearing to avoid delay in the hearing of the murder case that shocked the nation. “It can’t be that the true that you learnt about this today. Tthe prosecution is advised to take note on the need to fast track the matter to avoid delays.

“However this being the first hearing, the court will grant the adjournment. The prosecution is advised to take note on the concerns surrounding femicide to avoid delays in the prosecution of this case,” he directed. The matter was adjourned to March 11, 2025.
Some netizen’s reaction to his pictures wondered whether he had changed his profession to a lawyer. Did Matara plead not guilty in February? In February, the murder suspect pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
The prosecutor stated that Matara had no recorded place of stay as his tenancy in Kasarani was terminated after his arrest. He also argued that the suspect had several cases documented in various stations linking him to criminal acts.
