Kalonzo’s daughter Damarie Saada was saying ‘I Do’ to her fiancé’ Martin Nyaga.
At the wedding, Kalonzo and Uhuru sat close by, sharing happy smiles as they watched the couple exchange vows.
“I thank President Uhuru Kenyatta for his friendship and solidarity with my family by attending the wedding ceremony of our daughter Damarie Saada and Martin Nyaga this afternoon in Naivasha.”
The wedding was held in Naivasha, a favourite destination for Kenyans wishing to tie the knot.
While addressing the guests, Mr. Kenyatta reminisced about his own daughter’s wedding, as he advised the newlyweds.
A short video clip of the President on TikTok account titled MC Wakili showed how keenly guests listened to the Fourth President, as he described how hard it was letting go of Ngina.
“The most difficult thing was saying kwa heri to my daughter,” he reminisced about that moment.
Adding;
“I tried to use every trick in the book to delay this thing, unajua kuna Covid sasa. Ngoja tungojee kidogo tuone, bado masaa, wacha tupange, unajua kuna …wacha tupange, until eventually I ran out of excuses,” he said as guests laughed.
He congratulated the groom Martin for being well behaved.
“They thought they could just come and take what they want, they don’t have regard for families, you only hear about things happening years later.”
Uhuru also assured Kalonzo about his daughters new journey
“Steve I assure you one of the most difficult things is saying kwaheri kwa a daughter. We all go through that. I went through the same problem.”
Ex-First daughter Ngina Kenyatta tied the knot in a traditional ceremony known as Gurario in 2022.
Details of the highly secret ceremony leaked online, after Dennis Itumbi let it be known she was walking down the aisle.
On his popular Twitter, now X.com, Itumbi tweeted the details, “Ngina Kenyatta, Congratulations on your Traditional Wedding.”
Adding, “May God fill your journey with blessings solidify your union with renewed love and importantly grant you a great family.”
Ngina was alleged to have been engaged to Alex Mwai, son of the Karen Club General Manager Mr. Sam Mwai.
Guests were not allowed phones to capture special moments, according to further claims.
