Tanzanian songstress Zuchu has fuelled debate after releasing a controversial song dubbed Antennae. The music video of Zuchu’s Antenna song started a debate. Why did Zuchu’s Antennae song unsettle fans? The song, released on Saturday, November 23, has garnered 2.3 million YouTube views.
However, many of the comments called her out, saying the symbolism was satanic. The video shows Zuchu in a parade set-up at a school. Several girls, including Zuchu, suddenly collapse and are rushed to hospital before their parents are summoned. They are later transferred to what appears to be a psychiatric hospital after their condition deteriorates. Zuchu then starts singing, seemingly possessed.
The eerie music video shows Zuchu surrounded by hooded people wearing red, with only their eyes visible. Midway through, she’s seen trying to run away but is encompassed by masked men. An eerie scream is heard before she continues dancing. Some netizens claimed that the singer was praising dark forces in the clip, while others said it was artistic. @nancyawuor7855: “She is praising Satan, but God will forever be praised, amen.”
@stephenkichwa: “If you have a discerning eye, you will see that Satan was praised in this song. Ishindwe kabisa.” @WakalivanJanitaz: “Music is art, and this is art. It’s the reality of music.”
BeatriceMbonea: “If you believe in God, like this comment. Shetani ashindwe.” @leahgituku3035: “What song is this? I’m not jealous, but praise the name of Jesus.” @Carinno2217: “This is the best video ever.” shiellahmaraga3879 “Every song has a spirit behind it. This song is purely demonic.”
