Claudia Naisabwa, the vibrant and talented media personality, has opened up about her journey in the entertainment industry and the pivotal role comedian Eddie Butita played in shaping her career.
At just 19 years old and still a student, Claudia landed her first job as a presenter at SPM Buzz, an entertainment platform owned by Butita.
Reflecting on those formative years in an interview with NairobiNews, Claudia acknowledged her naivety at the time, revealing how Butita guided her through the challenges of the entertainment world.
“There are a lot of challenges in the entertainment industry for young girls like me. There’s the good and the bad, and I promise you, there are wicked people everywhere,” shared Claudia, now 22. “But there are good people too—people who will protect you from anything. Butita is one of those people.”
A Mentor and Friend
Claudia praised Butita for being more than just a boss—he became her mentor and friend.
“Butita has protected me from so much. He was always there to offer advice, especially when it came to navigating tricky social interactions in the industry.
Whenever someone made a pass at me, I would tell him, and he would give me honest feedback about that person.”
The young presenter stated Butita’s discreet nature and respect for her autonomy. “He would tell me what was right and wrong and guide me on the right path, but he would never make decisions for me. Even now, if I’m seeing someone or someone hits on me, Butita knows. He keeps all my secrets.”
Romantic Rumours and Public Life
Despite her gratitude for Butita’s mentorship, Claudia has faced her fair share of scrutiny and rumours about her personal life.
In January 2024, she dismissed claims of dating Homeboyz Radio presenter Kerry Martin.
“People like something to talk about. As long as it’s sellable, they’ll create a story. I will never comment on such rumors because I don’t want to attract attention,” Claudia said during an interview with Mwende Macharia. “I am very single.”
Claudia also had to shut down rumours of a past romantic relationship with former Sports CS Ababu Namwamba.
The speculation arose after she was appointed to the Talanta Hela Committee, a move she attributes solely to her work ethic.
Speaking on Morning Kiss with Kwambox and Kerry Martin in September 2024, she clarified, “The CS appreciated my work as a creative. I reached out to him to showcase my work, which led to my appointment. That’s the extent of our relationship. I don’t know why people like to mix things.”
Claudia said that she remained focused on her career and personal growth, refusing to let public scrutiny overshadow her accomplishments.
“I am not dating anybody. I am very single. In this life, sitaki stress,” she said, reaffirming her commitment to staying grounded amid the noise.
