William Ruto Takes Dig at Gachagua, Says Kindiki Will Educate Him: "I Now Have Good Deputy"

President William Ruto has taken a subtle jab at his former deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, while praising his current deputy, Kithure Kindiki. The head of state once again demonstrated how his relationship with Gachagua was broken.

The head of state emphasised the importance of cooperation among government organs and raised concerns about judicial overreach impacting government projects. During celebrations to commemorate 12 years since the establishment of the Supreme Court, Ruto articulated the necessity of checks and balances within the government. .

The president highlighted that effective collaboration is vital for promoting national interest and upholding constitutionalism. "What has become clear during the course of constitutional implementation, and in the life of the Supreme Court, is that notwithstanding the principle of separation of powers and the need for checks and balances, cooperation between organs of the government and among state institutions is necessary and desirable for the promotion of national interest and constitutionalism," he stated.

How did Ruto take aim at Gachagua In a cleverly veiled reference to his strained relationship with Gachagua, Ruto implied that his former deputy had not fully grasped the complexities of governance. The president questioned the dynamics between the Judiciary and the Executive branch, pondering what would happen when judicial overreach occurred. "I hope I'm not making things difficult here; I am just asking myself, as a layman.

Maybe I now have a good deputy, a professor, maybe he will help educate me on this when we have some time," Ruto said. He asserted that while the Executive must refrain from interfering with judicial matters, the Judiciary must equally exercise caution.
