Nyashinski, Wakadinali & Necessary Noize set to headline Blankets & Wine

 

Rapper Nyashinski, Necessary Noize and Wakadinali are set to perform at Blankets & Wine December Edition themed The Kenyan Summer on December 22, 2024.

The much-anticipated Blankets & Wine is set to bring the heat this Kenyan summer with Kenyans most celebrated artists whose music bridges traditional roots with modern sounds, will be making an appearance.

 Known for celebrating culture, music, and artistry, this iconic festival promises an unforgettable experience with its “Fully Kenyan” theme, proudly showcasing local talent and creativity.

The festival promises an even better experience with two stages filled with a pure array of Kenya’s top artists for a truly dynamic festival experience: Leading this revolution are standout acts, each bringing their unique essence.

To add to the list of performances is  Njerae, an exceptional vocalist, who melds neo-soul and Afro-jazz to craft introspective, soulful melodies that resonate deeply with her listeners.

The vibrant duo Watendawili infuses electrifying energy into their performances, seamlessly blending Afrobeat and hip-hop with thought-provoking lyrics.

Rounding out this dynamic lineup is Necessary Noize, an iconic group whose reggae-inspired hits have transcended generations, continuing to inspire fans across the country.

The Kenyan Summer would not be complete without Coaster Ojwang, whose musical genre fuses traditional East African coastal rhythms with contemporary Afro-pop influences, creating a vibrant and soulful soundscape.Coaster Ojwang’s lyrics often explore themes of love, resilience, and community, delivered in a mix of Swahili, English, and Indigenous dialects, which adds to its universal charm

Lastly is Xenia Manasseh a rising star in the Kenyan music scene whose sultry voice and seamless fusion of R&B, soul, and Afro-influences captivate audiences. With a string of international collaborations and a distinctive sound, Xenia continues to position herself as one of Kenya’s most promising exports.

Lastly on the live stage is Idd Aziz who showcases an authentic fusion of Afro-fusion and Swahili cultural sounds.

“It’s a celebration of our artists, our culture, and our community. With unforgettable performances, the Onja Onja Market featuring Kenya’s finest vendors, and a dedicated family zone, we’re creating an experience for everyone. Gates open at midday, and we can’t wait to celebrate together.”

The second stage of the festival brings a rich tapestry of musical genres and sounds, each artist contributing their unique flair. KJ Karuga is a rising star in Kenya’s DJ scene, known for his impeccable taste in music and electrifying stage presence.

DJ IV is a powerhouse of creativity and rhythm, celebrated for her seamless transitions and genre-bending style. With influences ranging from house and amapiano to Kenyan urban beats, DJ IV crafts an immersive sound experience that leaves audiences craving more.

On the other hand, Ally Fresh brings a fresh perspective to the Kenyan DJ circuit with his versatile mixes and magnetic stage energy. Known for his innovative mashups of Afro-pop, dancehall, and trap, Ally Fresh captivates audiences with his bold creativity and dynamic performance style.

Akoth Jumadi channels traditional African folk and soulful storytelling with her evocative voice and acoustic melodies. Shinsky brings vibrant Afrobeat and dancehall rhythms, and Dylan X seamlessly blends Afro-house, amapiano, and EDM, creating high-energy sets that keep audiences on their feet.

Vidza, on the other hand, brings a unique flair with his eclectic fusion of Afrobeat, hip-hop, and soulful rhythms, captivating listeners with his seamless transitions and infectious vibes. Together, they represent a new wave of Kenyan talent, pushing the boundaries of traditional DJing and elevating the nightlife and entertainment experience across the region.

Adding to this vibrant scene is MGM, a powerhouse DJ celebrated for his mastery in blending Kenyan urban sounds with global electronic beats. MGM's sets are a journey through sound, marked by bold creativity and a deep connection to Kenya's evolving musical identity. Together, these three DJs are at the forefront of a musical revolution, pushing boundaries and elevating the Kenyan music experience on the global stage.

Scheduled for December 22, 2024, at Laureate Gardens, Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, this edition invites Kenyans to come together for a summer celebration of music, culture, and community.
