Nairobi Mum Tearfully Embraces Form 4 Daughter for Completing KCSE, Prays While Kneeling
A Nairobi woman captured on video tearfully embracing her daughter, who had just finished her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination, has shared why the moment was emotional for them. Nairobi mum narrates difficult journey paying school fees for her daughter until she finished Form 4.
Mirriam Allans told TUKO.co.ke that their journey has been full of challenges, and they were very grateful to God when her daughter finally cleared school. She explained that her firstborn daughter, Arabella, joined Loreto Kiambu Girls High School when she was going through a tough time both emotionally and financially. “My daughter joined high school when I was newly separated from the other parent.
I did not have money to admit her to Loreto Kiambu, where she had gained admission,” she said. “Through TUKO.co.ke, a good Samaritan called me after reading my story and asked me what help I wanted. He is an old man, a foreigner I have never met or seen. After a few months, I told him I needed KSh 150,000 school fees from my child,” she narrated. The foreigner did not hesitate or doubt her as he sent the entire amount without expecting anything in return. According to Mirriam, the kind stranger was God sent, and she will always be grateful to him because she used part of the money to admit Arabella to school and also set up her restaurant business.
“He first sent me KSh 5,000 to confirm if his account could send money to Kenya then wired the rest of the money just like that. That is how I took my child to school and used part of the money to set up my business, Asili Kitchen,” she added. Why mum and daughter cried at Loreto Kiambu Girls The mother of three noted that seeing her daughter walk out of the school without having been sent home for fees even once was very emotional. She narrated that Arabella knew all the struggles she had been through to pay her fees and take care of her and her siblings.
“We cried that day with my daughter because she knew our story and how far we had come. I recalled when she had just joined Form One and how God had come through for us through a stranger and another close friend. It has not been easy. I told her that we would return here after she clears Form 4 to thank the same God, and she told me that even in university, God shall come through," she stated. Mirriam has encouraged other parents who feel things may not work out to keep their faith, saying that God will somehow provide for them.
