Mungai Eve Disputes Sarah Kabu’s View on Infidelity
On Hey Girl episode 2, Mungai Eve and her co-host Liz Jackson discussed Sarah Kabu’s statement that "women should not leave a man because of cheating," and shared their view that this mindset is outdated.
They explained that the era of staying in a relationship despite infidelity is over. Eve and Liz noted that in the past, marriages, including those of previous generations, often followed the belief that “Mwanamke ni kuvumilia kwenye ndoa” (a woman must endure in marriage), but in today’s generation, they believe people have moved beyond that expectation.
Eve shared that her mother was once a proponent of patience in marriage, believing one should wait for things to improve, but Eve says she has helped her mother see things differently.
"Mamangu pia alikuwa ukimwambia relationship inaenda ivi na ivi anakwambia vumilia tu kidogo, try utulie but nowadays nimemempower and at least she knows it’s not about that and that one should be in a happy marriage," she said.
Eric Omondi, who joined as a surprise guest, disclosed that his father had five wives, with his mother as the fourth.
Omondi explained that he grew up believing men were naturally polygamous, based on his observations of his father and uncles.
"I’ve done my research of men since I was young, from my dad, uncles’ lifestyles to an extent that I believed men are naturally polygamous," he shared.
However, Eve interjected, expressing her belief that men are polygamous by choice rather than by nature.
"Personally, how I’ve observed men and how I think, I think that it’s not naturally polygamous, I feel like it’s by choice because they have the ability to say no to someone else if they are dating," she stated.
Omondi also shared that he intends to focus on the one child he has, wanting to ensure his child has the best opportunities in life.
"Mimi nafeel ntabaki na uyo mtoto mmoja ju ntafeel poa mtoto wangu akipata the best of the best," he said
