Veteran rapper and songwriter Khaligraph Jones aka Papa Jones just performed at St. Paul's University more than a decade after he was booed off stage.
The incident happened at the onset of his musical journey during a performance.
The father of 4 shared a video on his Instagram page marveling at how much has changed in the last couple years as he took to the University grounds for an electric performance as roars of celebration and excitement erupted from all those in attendance.
Revellers could be seen jumping up and down as they sang along to his songs word for word.
Papa Jones crowned the performance by throwing his pricey hoodie to the crowd who could be heard still asking for more after his stormy act.
Captioning the post the 'Yes Bana' hitmaker revealed he held no resentment towards the school or those who had underestimated and disrespected him in the past. Highlighting it was the said disrespect that propelled him into the globally acclaimed musical giant that he is now.
"Went back to St. Paul's 12 years later..." started off Papa Jones.Walking his followers down memory lane, the 34-yearold artist recounted the unfortunate performance writing,"Last time I was there was back in 2012 when I was still beginning my career. And I was booed off the stage,
Something that I will forever be grateful for because it made the OG who he is today,"
Finishing up Khaligraph Jones celebrated the fact that at the end of it all he'd had the last laugh, proving his doubters wrong. " God bless St. Paul's Uni. The OG was respected," the last of his post read.
Back in 2021 the 'Tuma Kitu' crooner addressed the incident revealing it almost made him give up on his dream. Sharing a throwback photo of himself performing at a show in 2012 he wrote, "The year was 2012, St Pau'ls University Limuru where I was booed and later chased off the stage like a burukenge. I almost quit music bana.
The OG was not respected because the OG was not the OG at that point,”
