Gathoni Wamuchomba Claims Dorcas Rigathi's Clothes Have Been Seized at DP's Residence

Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has sensationally claimed that former deputy president's spouse Dorcas Rigathi cannot access some of her personal effects at the DP's official residence. Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba (pictured) claimed that Pastor Dorcas Rigathi had been barred from accessing the official residence of the deputy president.  The lawmaker suggested that former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has left the residence after his impeachment. 

She claimed Dorcas had been barred from collecting her clothes from the official residence that hosted her family for two years.  Wamuchomba wondered why the clothes were being held.  "Nguo za mchungaji Munafungia huko Karen za nini? Ama ni exhibit ya next accusations? Mama Boyz amewakosea waapi jameni? Reminder; Power is transient," she said on X. It is yet to be established whether the current office holder, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, has moved to the residence. 

Gachagua and his family lost the privileges accorded to eminent people in government following his impeachment on October 18. Privileges Gachagua and his spouse lost after impeachment His security was significantly scaled down, and he was also made to vacate the official residence of the country's second-in-command. Prior to Gachagua's impeachment, his spouse's office was deprived of a KSh 557 million budget, a move the government said was aimed at narrowing government spending.

The offices of the First Lady and the Prime Cabinet Secretary's wife were also affected by the measure. First Lady Rachel Ruto’s office was slated to receive KSh 697 million in the 2024/25 fiscal year. The move to deprive the offices of funding saved the taxpayer Ksh 1.3 billion. Gachagua's tribulations came thick and fast despite his pleas to Ruto.
