Gachagua Discloses Details of Private Car Trailing Him from His Residence: "Registered as Lorry"

Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua

Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has identified one of the vehicles he claimed has been trailing him. Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua (pictured) claimed state security agents were following up on him while on board unmarked vehicles. In a series of sensational tweets on Wednesday evening, November 20, Gachagua claimed state security agents had been following him up while onboard unmarked cars.

Details of vehicle that parked at Gachagua's Karen home He singled out a saloon car, which he claimed was among the ones his tormentors had been using to trespass on his homes in Nairobi and Nyeri.  Upon a quick search on the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) portal, Gachagua established that the saloon car was bearing registration details of a lorry, thus suggesting its real plate was being mischievously concealed.

He divulged that the car in question parked at the main gate of his Karen home on Sunday, November 17, and trailed him to Kerarapon in Kajiado county, where he attended a service at a PCEA church. "Last Sunday, the below saloon car that was parked at the entrance to my residence trailed me to PCEA Kerarapon Church, followed me to where I went for a late lunch and back to the house!

Upon checking the NTSA portal, I noticed that the number plates are registered to a lorry," said Gachagua. In the meantime, Gachagua expressed concerns over his safety, suggesting that those trailing him could be insidious people. Why Gachagua shared his tribulations with Kenyans He implied that the operatives' manoeuvres were synonymous with the perpetrators of abductions and extrajudicial killings reported in the recent past.

Gachagua, therefore, stated that he chose to share with Kenyans the harassment and intimidation he was being subjected to so as the state can be held to account should any harm befall him. At the same time, while appearing to harbour sour grapes after his ouster, Gachagua sent an indirect message to President William Ruto, asking to be left alone as he was unfairly removed from office. Gachagua seemed to wonder why the state was still pursuing him even after giving up his post; he asked to be left to live peacefully like any other civilian.
