Betty Kyallo's wise words to those seeking cosmetic surgery

Veteran media personality, budding reality TV star and business mogul Betty Kyallo has called upon people to be extra careful while seeking out cosmetic procedures.

The news anchor also pointed a finger at social media influencers, encouraging them to do research before blindly agreeing to be affiliated with a product and go online to encourage their fans to be consumers of said product.

Sharing on her Instagram stories, Betty noted there were so many well-qualified plastic surgeons in the country to have people scrambling to just one and, unfortunately, have accidents happen.

"By the time we allow anyone to touch our bodies, whether it is plastic surgeons or even doctors, let's make sure we do our research well," the seasoned TV show host wrote in part.

Her post went on to read, "There are so many splendid professionals in our country, we just need to find them," as the mother of one encouraged people to read up on things as opposed to blindly following a fad.

"Let's keep off from things we don't understand unless you get properly educated.

And to influencers, kindly let's always do due diligence before we try to convince our fans into buying into anything. That is our responsibility," the last of her post read.

Betty's words of advice come days after a lady lost her life due to alleged malpractice and negligence from a popular Nairobi clinic after she got her liposuction done at the facility.

News of her passing was shared by content creator and entrepreneur Amira, who is friends with the daughter of the deceased lady.

Amira, narrating the traumatic experience, claimed the doctor performing the surgery lacked proper qualifications, and this resulted in complications that ultimately led to the loss of a beloved friend.

"It is heartbreaking to lose someone as wonderful as Lucy due to negligence and malpractice by unqualified individuals performing plastic surgery procedures.

"Lucy had her surgery done by someone confirmed not to be a plastic surgeon. Her intestines were perforated, leading to stool leaking into her abdomen, causing a severe infection that resulted in her death," she wrote.

Amira detailed how, after being discharged home in extreme pain, Lucy returned to the clinic but found no doctor present.

She was then rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where surgeons attempted to address the severe infection and multiple perforations in her intestines, despite their efforts, Lucy succumbed to the complications passing away four days later.
