Mumias East constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Peter Salasya has opened up on why he has been skeptical about getting a wife.

The youthful lawmaker in a statement made via his official Instagram account on Saturday, November 16, 2024, said that he has enough money to maintain a wife, but he still holds some fears.

Salasya on his freedom

According to Salasya, having a wife will most probably limit his freedom.

The Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) first-term MP argued that a wife would restrict him and that he would not be able to do some of the things he loved doing.

In what looked like a clever way of seeking to know a good wife material, Salasya asked Kenyans to suggest some of the tribes that can produce women who will settle in marriage and care less about what the husband would be doing.

Salasya on having a family

Last month, Salasya for the first time disclosed his desire to have his biological children.

In a statement posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Salasya said that he loves children so much and that he was thinking of having his own.

The youthful parliamentarian stated that since he is a single man, he has the option of paying a reserved lady to carry his child and birth next year.

He went on to say that the agreement he will have with the said lady will be sponsoring the child’s education until where he/she would want.

“I love children I think I should (have them)now ata kaa ni kununua mdem anizalie next year so demure. And part of agreement nitasomesha hadi penye atataka kufika,” he said.

Salasya on future wife

The comic lawmaker is currently featured on Oga Obinna’s reality TV show dubbed ‘My Woman‘ in his quest to find a life partner.

On August 21, 2024, he revealed that he had found the perfect location to build a home for his future wife, despite the dating scene not being smooth sailing for him.

In a statement shared on his Instagram, Salasya expressed that while he is still unsure who his first wife will be, he has already set aside a spot for her future home.

“I have identified the place I am going to build a legacy home for my first wife na siko sure up to now ni nani,” Salasya stated.

Salasya has previously revealed that his wish is to marry a busy and submissive woman who according to him is not in the waters he is fishing in.

He explained that it is challenging for him to find a wife because Nairobi women often prefer city life, whereas he wants someone who can stay at home in the village.
