Irene Nekesa, the popular employee in the Bahatis’ home, has confirmed social media rumours that she is no longer working for the family.
While she did not confirm the actual date of exit, Irene opened up about her reason for leaving. Many rumours online suggested there was bad blood.
Irene denied this, saying it was a joint decision that she leave.
Irene revealed this on her new YouTube channel.
Irene Nekesa, on her YouTube channel, had a sit-down with Dem wa FB and Mama County, where she opened up about her former job.
“We are here to ask you all the burning questions we all have,” Dem wa FB said.
Irene formed a huge presence on the social media of her former boss Diana Marua. However, there had been speculation that she may have left her job abruptly.
Irene confirmed this speculation but corrected the perception that all was not well.
“Actually, online it’s only Irene Nekesa with people wondering what happened. So let me tell you one thing: in life, you must grow. It’s like a child that is well taken care of by her parents. So, for me, it’s the same. They used to tell me, Irene, work hard. I love Diana and Bahati so much, wherever they are. Please know that—si ati tumeachana. It’s just that it reached a point they said, Irene, you have grown, and now, saa hii, go find your own life and stand on your own,”
Dem wa FB even mentioned that she noticed Irene was unfollowed online.
Irene replied, “So hawakuniachilia hivo, pia mimi social media si mbaya; I have really pushed myself to grow there, so go do that and make sure you mentor others. Sio ati tumeachana vibaya.”
Rumours online suggested she was fired. Irene disagreed.
“No, it wasn’t like that. Even that unfollowing me on IG, maybe it is just by mistake because I haven’t seen that. I have just been receiving messages asking about that. Unless I was just holding my phone badly and it unfollowed itself.”
Mama County sought clarity about that, “So it is you who unfollowed her?”
Irene agreed, “Yes. They are saying she is the one who unfollowed, and then I also did the same. So mimi hata sikuwa najua what happened kwa simu. So, you know, sometimes, you find…”
What is her relationship with singer Bahati?
“Let me tell you guys one thing you don’t seem to understand but will later come to know. I was released from my job, I said I would do my own thing. When a child grows, they can stand on their own—mtu anagrow and knows how to communicate. When a child grows, you tell them to go ask Auntie for something or ask another mom. So, it helps a person grow.”
What about online claims that Diana is bad?
“Ni mbaya njia gani? Unaona nini? Ndio nakuambia tulianzana na Diana kazi vizuri sana, tumelea watoto. That’s why I’m telling you the children are now grown, so me as Irene, nikasema let me open a YouTube channel, whatever—there are things I want to push, like doing adverts. So, they said, Irene, you have grown. Saa hii, we’ve stayed almost seven years, and if she was bad, I wouldn’t have stayed that long. That’s many years. So, I love Diana.”
Has she left for good?
“Sasa, kusalimia is not an issue. Going and saying hi is not an issue; I know the gate. But right now, I have so much going on. When I get time, I’m ready to go visit.”
Adding:
“I decided to open up so that we don’t have other accounts coming up with stories that maybe I was beaten or maybe I was chased. No, tumeachana vizuri. If there was something, you would have heard it already. I want to tell people the truth—sijatoka kwa ubaya. I left peacefully, and I know Mungu will bless them.”
