Political scientist and sociologist Bravin Yuri has expressed concerns about a growing trend indicating that men are becoming less engaged in pursuing and maintaining relationships.

The political scientists suggest that the shift in behavior may have significant consequences for individuals and society.

In his recent Instagram story, the sociologist expressed concern about the negative impact of Western culture on traditional African values regarding courtship and relationships with women.

The sociologist criticizes the mentality of women staying single as they age for better partners, which is more irrelevant. Here is his post:

There is a trend that is growing very fast, especially among men. They are losing interest in relationships. In the next 10 years, and I want you to start counting, you will be surprised what this will yield. This is partly caused by Westernization and many do not see it. Many men mostly feel women are not bringing any value to their lives. Their thoughts. Why? Most can't do the bare minimum. The unemployment rate is also a huge contributor.

Also, there is a high increasing number of single parents. It's rare to find a woman or man without a child. And the other parent is very absent.

On the other hand, many women who do not have children/ a child, have to wait until their mid-30s and are still waiting for "the right man”.

I am observing so many things and it has so many lessons at the same time. These are tough conversations that need tough talk and coffee.
