A harrowing incident unfolded in Ruaka, Kiambu County, where an irate mob set a Toyota Land Cruiser on fire, despite desperate pleas from its owner. Land Cruiser driver tried to calm down angry crowd The altercation began following a road accident in which a couple tragically lost their lives on the Ruaka-Ndenderu Highway.  In the video, the visibly shaken owner of the Land Cruiser pleads for mercy from the enraged group. 

Despite his efforts to explain the situation, the mob, appearing unmoved, set the vehicle ablaze using petrol. The car was soon engulfed in flames as bystanders recorded the tragic scene on their phones. Kenyans online condemned destructive culture Social media platforms have been awash with reactions to the video, with many calling for calm and condemning the violent destruction of property. Details indicate that the accident occurred when a speeding KSh 27 million Toyota Land Cruiser 300 hit the duo as they attempted to cross the road. Outraged residents gathered at the scene, blocking the highway and causing a major traffic jam to protest the frequent accidents in the area. The angry crowd vandalised and set the luxury vehicle on fire, blaming the government for failing to address road safety concerns.
