Rigathi Gachagua Impeachment: Speaker Moses Wetang'ula's Area MP Opposes DP's Ouster

 

Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga 

MPs from Bungoma have expressed different opinions over Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's impeachment during a weekend of public participation in different constituencies. Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga said he would vote against the motion to impeach Rigathi Gachagua.  Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, while speaking in Cheptais in Mount Elgon, said he is ready to impeach the deputy president this week. His Kabuchai counterpart, Majimbo Kalasinga, hinted at voting against the motion while addressing residents in his constituency.  TUKO.co.ke has learned that Barasa is among the frontiers leading the impeachment motion for the DP. 

While speaking in various functions, the outspoken legislator is on record criticising the DP for undermining President William Ruto while serving under the same government. Barasa affirmed residents of his intentions to vote yes to the motion that seeks to oust the embattled deputy president "Like I have said before, Rigathi Gachagua impeached himself a year ago, and right now where I am when I speak and say Rigathi Gachagua is going home, he starts shivering and urinate on himself." Said Barasa How are Bungoma residents divided However, Kabuchai MP Majimbo Kalasinga asked his constituents which side he should take, and residents enormously said no. The MP then said he would do according to voters' wish.

 "On Tuesday around 7:00 pm, we have a motion in parliament to remove the deputy president in the office, and because you have said you want him to continue serving as deputy president I'll do exactly as you have send me, this is the official position of people of Kabuchai." Said Kalasinga Mumias East MP Peter Salasya did not hold public participation in the impeachment motion. The MP, who had accompanied the Kabuchai MP at a funeral function in Kabuchai, said he would not get involved in deceiving the deputy president. "People of Mumias and I are in agreement that we don't have time to do public participation because that is not our concern, This country has a lot of important issues to deal with and we will not be divided, we should be focused." said Salasya.
