A family in Kisii county is celebrating the return of their son, who disappeared from home in 2022. Cyrus Osando reunites with family two years after disappearing.  Cyrus Osando, who was by then in Class Eight, left home a few days before the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) commenced. In a report by KBC, the now-found 16-year-old boy stated that he disappeared to find jobs and make money.  The family gathered at his parents' home in Nyanchwa estate in Kisii town, singing and dancing happily to the prodigal son's return.

Kisii boy returns home after 2 years Speaking to the press, Cyrus’ mother confirmed that her son went missing on September 24, 2022. “He went missing in September 2022. We have really searched for him. He was about to sit for his exams but failed to do so,” she stated. The teenager revealed that he started searching for greener pastures in Maai Mahiu but later moved to Naivasha, where he tended to chicken. “I worked in Maai Mahiu, but someone helped me get a job in Naivasha where I tended to chicken before I decided to come back home,” he narrated. Despite the disappointment of their son voluntarily leaving home, the family expressed gratitude for his safe return.

“I want to thank God for bringing him home safe and sound. He is not hurt. He did not engage in substance abuse or cult. We only pray that God keeps protecting him,” said a family member.
