Owner of Kitale Car That Overturned on Highway Sets Record Straight: "I Was the One Driving"

An accident in Kitale

The owner of a Toyota Harrier, whose overturned vehicle sparked widespread speculation on social media, has spoken out to clarify the circumstances of the accident. The owner of the Kitale car that overturned on the highway has set the record straight. In a viral video, many users claimed the seemingly brand-new car was in the possession of a car wash attendant in Kitale, prompting various theories about the incident.  What did Patrick Wepukhuli say about Kitale car? In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, Patrick Wepukhuli, an official with the Football Kenya Federation in the Saboti sub-county, explained that the accident occurred while he was driving to Wamalwa Kijana Referral Hospital.

“Yes, it is my car, and I was the one driving. It overturned after hitting a deep pothole while I was heading to county referral. It was not at a car wash as people are saying,” Wepukhuli stated. He also addressed a part of the video featuring another individual who was frustrated about damage to his motorbike. Wepukhuli clarified that the complaints expressed in the video pertained to the man’s motorcycle, not his vehicle. “I know I will get you because now my car is damaged. Instead of telling me how to go about the problem, you are talking about Kijana. How will that help me? Just tell me how my vehicle will be pulled out. Tell me, between you and me, who is pained?” the man was heard saying in the footage.
