Nairobi Family Pleads for Help After 13-Year-Old Son Disappeared from School 4 Weeks Ago

Joseph Duncan Odhiambo

A family in Kayole, Nairobi county, is distressed, looking for their 13-year-old son who went missing on September 28, 2024. Family pleads for help to find 13-year-old son. Joseph Duncan Odhiambo, a Komarock South Primary School pupil, attended remedial classes at the institution but never returned home. The family reported the matter to Komarock police station but has allegedly yet to receive a response from the officers regarding Odhiambo’s whereabouts. Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Edward Otieno, the boy’s father, claimed the school came to help once by hiring a tractor to dig out a hole where the Grade 5 pupil allegedly fell.

However, they did not find his body, raising questions about whether the information was true. “The school hired a tractor to dig out a hole where his friends said he had slipped and fell but we did not find his body. “After taking the sick kid who was ill home, the teachers told us that the boys decided to escort another friend and it was raining. So one of the boys said he slipped and fell on some pavements around the estate, and that’s how they never saw him again,” narrated the dad.

As a result, the distraught family has asked the government to help them locate their son. Where was Joseph Odhiambo last seen? The 13-year-old’s father stated that he dropped his son at school but did not find him when he returned. According to him, the teacher said she had sent him on an errand, and there was no need to raise an alarm. “My son came to school for remedial lessons in September. I dropped him off and headed to work, but he was not in school when I returned.

"I asked the teacher, who told me one of his classmates was sick. She sent Odhiambo and another boy to escort him home. She told me not to worry because she would get him back to me,” he claimed. However, as it was getting late in the evening, the teacher allegedly kept assuring the dad that they were with the boy and would get him home safely. “Time went by, and when it got to 9pm, the teacher said I should not worry; I called her back at 10 pm, and she said the same thing, adding that they were with him. After a while, she stopped picking up my calls,” he lamented. More than three weeks later, they are yet to find their lost child.
