A public service vehicle (PSV) bus has lost control and plunged into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni Ferry crossing channel. The bus carrying passengers plunged into the Indian Ocean at the Likoni Ferry.  Which bus plunged into the Indian Ocean? In the Sunday, October 6, incident, the bus, belonging to the Chania Executive Bus Company, plunged into the ocean with passengers aboard. Preliminary investigations indicate that the bus, registration number KCF 236, which was heading to Nairobi from Ukunda, lost control before overturning. Eyewitnesses said the bus lost its brakes after crossing the channel, careening backwards and colliding with a ferry.

TUKO.co.ke has established that Kenya Ferry Services has managed to rescue six passengers so far. "A passenger bus from Nairobi to Ukunda has just plunged into the Indian ocean with passengers on board. So far, the Kenya ferry services divers have done a tremendous job by rescuing 6 women who were on board," Presenter Hassan Zuma said. In the video, some people, mostly women, can be heard crying for help, with one begging for rescuers to rescue a child. Members of the public are helping the divers with the rescue mission, with Red Cross officials saying nine passengers were injured.
