Mashirima Kapombe thanks fans for their immense support following her mom's demise

Veteran Swahili news anchor Mashirima Kapombe and her family have expressed their immense gratitude to Kenyans for the overwhelming financial, emotional, and religious support they accorded them following the demise of Mashirima's mom, Angela Wanjala Kapombe.

Kapombe's mother passed away on the 25th of September while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH)

The late Angela, who was aged 56 at the time of passing, was laid to rest yesterday,10th October at her matrimonial home in Kikambala, Kilifi County surrounded by family and friends.

This is after a memorial mass was held at All Saints Cathedral followed by the family shifting base to Nyeri for a few days for a Thanksgiving mass service. Following the service, the news anchor took to her socials to thank all who had come through for them as a family.

Mashirima posted a portrait of her late mother smiling and lively accompanied by a touching message of blessings to all those who'd extended a hand of kindness to them during this trying time.

"We want to express our deepest gratitude for your prayers, generous contributions, and support during this difficult time. Your kindness and thoughtfulness have brought comfort to our family as we honour Angela Wanjala Kapombe Thank you for standing with us and for your compassion," the post read. 

Captioning it the Citizen TV host wrote, "It truly means the world to us May God bless you abundantly!"

Mourning her mom on 26th September, shortly after the family announced Angela had passed away, the young lady shared a message noting she was devastated by the turn of events.

"Broken... Eternal rest grant unto mum oh Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon her. May she Rest in Peace? Amen!" Mashirima wrote accompanying the post with a broken heart emoticon.
