Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital has responded to a recent media report that alleged unsafe conditions in their maternity ward. Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital Denies Media Reports of Women Sharing Beds in Maternity Ward A Citizen TV report aired on October 19 at 7 pm showed videos of mothers sleeping on the floor and sharing beds. In a press statement, the management clarified that as of October 19, the facility had 100 mothers in the maternity ward, and none of them were sleeping on the floor.  

Furthermore, they added that they admitted 10 new mothers, six of whom gave birth— four through caesarean section and two through normal delivery. "Last night, on 18th October, 19 successful deliveries were carried out—12 normal and 7 caesarean—with zero maternal mortality," read part of the statement. Further details indicated that the hospital's maternity ward has a 56-bed capacity, and despite the high number of patients, it prioritizes both the safety and dignity of every mother and child.
