Kisumu: Body of Woman Who Died 5 Months Ago Retained in Morgue Over Pending Bill
the late Mrs Clarice Adhiambo |
Despite efforts to save her life, she succumbed to her illness nearly a month later. How many children did Adhiambo have? She leaves behind four children, the youngest of whom was only seven months old at the time of her death. By the time of her passing, Clarice’s medical bill had accumulated to KSh 1 million. The hospital waived Ksh. 177,000, and the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) covered part of the expenses. Friends and family members have been tirelessly raising funds to cover the remaining balance, but a deficit of KSh 180,000 remains. Due to the unpaid balance, Adhiambo's body has been lying in the morgue for over five months. Adhiambo's family pleads for financial help Her children, who have gone through multiple school terms during this period, are still unable to bury their mother and find closure.
"The kids have gone through so much. They've closed school, reopened, and are about to close again, but their mother is still in the morgue," a relative lamented. Having visited numerous offices seeking financial assistance in vain, the family is now appealing to well-wishers to help them secure the body. They remain hopeful that their call for help will be answered and that Adhiambo's children will finally say their final goodbyes. We need to give her a proper burial so they can have closure," the family member added. Nairobi woman dies during childbirth, leaves behind newborn In Nairobi, Tom Mboya is struggling to come to terms with losing his wife, Beatrice Akatch, at a young age after she died during childbirth. Things seemed to progress well at the hospital when Akatch gave birth to their daughter, Ngima, around 1 pm. However, she developed complications and passed on shortly after the delivery, leaving Mboya widowed with a newborn.
