Despite the decades-long separation and the heartbreak it caused, his first wife, Esther Andima, has welcomed him back with open arms. NTV reports that Andima left behind four children when he set out for "greener pastures," never to return. His prolonged absence deeply worried his family, prompting an extensive search that included visits to hospitals and morgues across the region. After years of fruitless searching, they eventually gave up, assuming he had met a tragic end.

The family mourned his presumed death and tried to move on with their lives. It came as a shock to discover Andima, now 65, living in Kabartonjo, Baringo County. Since leaving Kisii, he had started a new family, raising five children with another woman. Nevertheless, Esther did not hesitate to accept him back upon his return. “It has been a difficult period fending for our kids. Feeding and educating them singlehandedly without my partner was a challenge,” Esther shared, expressing both relief and happiness at her husband’s return.

The reunion has brought a complex mix of emotions to the Andima family as they work toward rebuilding the relationships lost over the years. While many in Kimwanda village are left stunned by the news, Esther and her family are now focused on reconciliation, cherishing the miracle of having their loved one back.
