Khaligraph Jones & Vijana Barubaru bring Eldoret to a standstill with Electrifying performances

Award-winning rapper Khaligraph Jones and Afropop duo Vijana Barubaru brought Eldoret City to a standstill, headlining the much-anticipated Tusker OktobaFest – Regional edition.

The stars brought the house down at Timba XO, as revellers from different parts of the country showed up at the venue ready to have a good time.

Gates opened at around 4 PM allowing partygoers to secure their favorite spot where they could enjoy the evening with zero disruptions or interferences.

The Ultimate Beer Festival (Tusker OktobaFest) kicked off with a set of DJs hyping up the crowd with well-arranged and mastered mixes from different Genres of music.

DJ Aleckie, DJ Pierra Makena, and DJ Tibz were among those who elevated the night with their amazing skills on the turn-tables, and MC Nick The Trend made sure the crowd was fully charged up.

As always DJ Pierra Makena showed up on stage with a group of talented dancers – spicing up her set with a sprinkle of creativity and a touch of extraness.

DJ Tibz and DJ Aleckie followed the ‘old book’ but ensured their songs were uniquely selected, relatable, and in touch with the crowd present at Timba XO.

Papa Jones delivered an electrifying performance shortly after a hype set by DJ Tibz.

“I always feel good when I’m performing in Eldoret. There are no people who show me love you guys do and that's why my other name is Julius Yego,” Khaligraph Jones said during his set.

Before that Vijana Barubaru had entertained revellers with their hit songs that left many yearning for more. The Eldoret Edition of Tusker OktobaFest delivered a vibrant celebration of Kenyan beer, music, and culture.

All festival goers got to redeem their tickets for any KBL Beer – meaning their drinks budget was already taken care of just by them buying a ticket.

“This is a culture where people do come together to have a good time and celebrate over a beer. So we thought why not allow our customers to do so in a much bigger and much better way?

"Tusker OktobaFest is currently bigger than we had even envisioned it to be and that is why this year we are doing it differently. Instead of consumers coming to us, we are going to them and that’s why we are in Eldoret celebrating OktobaFest differently but the concept remains the same,”  said Brigid Wambua, Senior Brand Manager, Tusker.

Wambua went on to mention that how Kenyans drink beer is different throughout the country and they are out to explore this through OktobaFest.

“How we drink and enjoy beer is different across the country and that is what we want to explore. We want to highlight every single region and how they come together, how they celebrate and enjoy beer,” she said.

“In Eldoret, we always want to show and celebrate what people have and how they enjoy beer – and that is the whole point of OktobaFest,”.

According to Brigid, the Tusker OktobaFest experience will be moving to other locations around the country in the coming weeks.

"This is the first weekend that we are hosting the elevated experiences –happening In Nairobi and Eldoret. In the coming weekends (October 26th & November 2nd) this same experience will be in other 4 different locations. We have Nanyuki, Kisumu, Nairobi, and the Coast coming up next.

“We want to make sure that we have allowed every single region to showcase how they do beer, music, culture, and fashion because all of these encompass who we are as Tusker OktobFest,” she added.

How do you settle on artists and DJs who normally headline your events” A question was posed to Wambua.

She replied; “We only respond to what our consumers want. What our patrons want. So if our target audience enjoys Khaligraph Jones we will give them that, if they enjoy Rhumba we will give them Les Wanyika. So whatever they enjoy that is what we will give them.

On the other hand, Vijana Barubaru expressed their gratitude to their fans in Eldoret for always vibing to their music and supporting their craft.

"Our fans in Eldoret, thank you so much for the love. We had an amazing show on that stage and we are happy,” Vijana Barubaru said.

“It's a humbling experience that everywhere we go we find fans who listen to our music and even sing our songs word for word. Not a lot of people can brag about that. Our Eldoret fans we love you, we have been here before, we are here now and we shall come back again,”.

They thanked EABL for always holding their hand in the music industry.
