Kenyans Divided as Subaru Driver Races Against Vehicles Ferrying Miraa: "Ignorance”

A Kenyan TikToker has sparked controversy after going head-to-head with vehicles transporting miraa. A Subaru driver took on miraa vehicles. Did Subaru beat miraa vehicles? The pickup trucks, mostly modified Toyota Hilux, are known for their high speeds along the highways while transporting the perishable crop. @kid_da_champ, who drives a blue Subaru Forester, was challenged on TikTok to take on the transporters to see who's faster.  He accepted the challenge and posted a video racing against miraa drivers along the Thika Super Highway. 

The driver sped past one pickup truck as his turbo spooled before quickly overtaking another. It was unclear whether his speed was within the limits. "You told me I will be shown dust by these miraa vehicles, but no. Now I need to race a plane," he wrote. The video started an online debate, with some saying that the miraa drivers were unaware they were racing.
