Kajiado: Heartbreak as Lawyer Is Crushed to Death by His Messenger Outside Parking Lot

Police have launched investigations following the mysterious death of lawyer James Onchiri Nyaata. When was James Onchiri last seen alive According to a police report, Onchiri's body was found under his car with visible head injuries on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at about 6pm at the Kajiado Public Works Canteen.  Preliminary investigations show Onchiri was last seen with his messenger Erick Ondiek drinking at a bar opposite the Kajiado Law Courts. 

"In Kajiado, the deceased James Nyaata Onchiri, 62 years old and an advocate in Kajiado county was seen on October 21, at 6pm together with his messenger Erick Ondiek at the Kajiado Public Works Canteen in a motor vehicle reg no KBQ Mitsubishi pick-up before his body was discovered on October 22," the police report states. CCTV details about James Onchiri's death Police said they retrieved CCTV footage that captured the moments leading to the death on Monday, October 21. CCTV footage retrieved by the investigators showed Ondiek dragging the deceased from the bar towards the vehicle before he reversed and ran over the deceased, then fled the scene, leaving the car behind.  

The post-mortem analysis conducted on October 23, 2024, at the Kajiado County Hospital by Dorothy Njeru attributed the cause of death to chest injuries due to blunt force trauma. According to the police, five suspects, including the bar owner and the attendants, were arrested and are assisting the police with investigations. The investigation team was granted five days until October 28, 2024, to probe the matter," police said.
