Heartbreaking Video Shows Matatu Hitting 2 Kenyan Youths Recklessly Riding Bike: "Avoidable”

 

A viral video that is making the rounds online shows the moment two young people are struck by a matatu along the road. An accident between a boda boda and speeding matatu broke the hearts of many.  What caused matatu, boda boda accident? The video depicted a young man with a female pillion riding a motorbike along a highway. Two young men on another motorbike trailed them while filming.  They praised the bespoke motorcycle before handing a matchbox to the young lady.  

The two then urged the rider in a red jacket to showcase his riding skills by performing stunts on the road. He obliged, not knowing the tragedy that would soon strike. He started swerving on the road and rode into the oncoming late. Suddenly, a horn was heard blaring from the back before a 14-seater matatu crashed into them. The young man filming the video exclaimed in pain as they stopped and rushed towards the accident scene. Numerous women screamed in terror. 

The video showed the young lady sprawled on the road, seemingly dead. The heartbreaking footage sparked mixed reactions, with many noting that the accident was avoidable. Evance Ogachi Onchiri: “The biker was wrong, but how fast was that matatu going? Johnte Mwa: “They were playing on the road without checking the side mirrors.” Mkenya Benjahni: “I blame the matatu. The driver could have done better, especially on such a clear, less busy road.” 

Shadrack Omusinde: “Human error. Both the driver and the boda rider lacked situational awareness.” Odoyo Odhiambo: “It's high time people should learn. This is so sad and was 100% human error.”
