The Athlos NYC event was one of many firsts. The idea was the brainchild of the husband to tennis great Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian. The Reddit co-founder came up with the women-only event, fusing entertainment and track events. The event also had one of the biggest payouts in sports history, with the winners taking home a cool 60,000 USD (approximately 7.7 million Kenya shillings). Apart from the athletes, Megan Thee Stallion was the other star attraction, with the American pop star singing some of her popular hits. Thee Stallion later met with Kipyegon with the two stars of different worlds enjoying quality time. Kipyegon took to TikTok to share snippets of her meeting with the Captain Hook hitmaker.
