Controvasial Apostle James Ng’angá |
Apostle James Ng’angá has advised Gen Z against misusing his song about Zakayo. He clarified that in the song, he was referring to Zakayo in the Bible and not the one people might assume.
“Nimeskia Gen Z wanaimba nyimbo zangu. Io nyimbo sikumaanisha Zakayo uyo mnasema. Nlitoa io wimbo almost 18 years ago,” he added.
This comes months after the protests held by Gen Z in the country to make a political statement against the proposed 2024 Finance Bill.
The lyrics of the song “Shuka Zakayo” amused Kenyans, with many noting his creativity and how the song fits the current situation in the country.
Let’s not forget that Kenyans have being using the term as diss targeted at Kenyan president William Ruto for his aim to significantly increase taxes collected from Kenyans.
Here are some parts of the lyrics of the song: “Kwanini we unasumbuka. Na deni yako Yesu amekulipia. Shuka Zakayo chini ya mti leo nitakula kwa nyumba yako.”
Apostle Ng’angá claimed that the song’s relevance was coincidental and that he was not trying to imply the meaning people suggested.
The man of God has released seven songs so far that have gained a wide audience. “I have an album with seven songs. I sing often. But I thank God kama imefika wakati wake wa kufanya jambo,” he stated.
“You like this one so much,” he told the crowd, who were in awe when he performed the song.
He also performed the song at a crusade some months ago, where the audience was mostly Gen Z, who turned up in large numbers.
