Safaricom, Kenya’s largest telecommunications provider, is marking its 24th anniversary with a special gesture to its loyal customers. Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa during Safaricom’s 24th anniversary celebration. To express gratitude to over 2.4 million followers on Facebook, the company issued four scratch card giveaways. However, the celebration has not been without controversy. One customer, Grace W. Mwangi, claimed that the scratch card she received had been tampered with. In a public comment, she requested data bundles as compensation. Safaricom quickly addressed her concern, responding on time to resolve the issue.
“Hey Grace, sorry about that. Kindly share via inbox your phone number, full name, card value, and card serial number we check and advise,” Safaricom responded. How Safaricom responded to missed birthday bundle In a separate incident, another customer, Evelyn Ekai, expressed disappointment after failing to receive a reward from Safaricom during her birthday. She questioned why she did not receive the standard 1GB bundle that Safaricom typically grants customers on their birthdays.
“And you didn’t give me for my birthday,” Ekai stated. Safaricom responded to Ekai by asking her to share her details, including her phone number, full name, ID number, and date of birth through their inbox. The company assured her that they would investigate the birthday data bundle allocation. “Jambo Evelyn, sorry about that. Kindly share via inbox, your number, full name, ID number, and date of birth we check on that birthday data,” the response read.
