Kenya Power Lists Areas to Be Hit by Blackout on Tuesday, October 22

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) is conducting maintenance operations nationwide. Kenya Power field operations and maintenance team replacing rotten wooden poles with concrete ones at Sugutek Primary School in Bomet county. 

It has announced scheduled blackouts in several areas across Nairobi, Kakamega, Bungoma, and Kitui counties on Tuesday, October 22. KPLC stated that these regions will experience power outages lasting for eight hours as part of the maintenance efforts. Residents are advised to plan accordingly to mitigate any inconveniences caused by the blackouts. Which areas will be affected? Residents from Bungoma, Kitui, and Nairobi will be affected from 9am to 5pm. 

1. Nairobi 

Muthaiga Utalii Hotel, Mathari Hospital, Muthaiga Golf Hotel, Muthaiga Primary School, Muthaiga Police Residence, Mathari Sec, Mathari Brilliant Centre Academy, and adjacent customers. Zimmerman, Githurai 45 Zimmerman, Githurui 45, Farmers Choice, Kahawa Barracks, BATUK, and adjacent customers. Roysambu Kamiti Road, Jacaranda Est, Roysambu Primary School, and adjacent customers 

2. Kitui county 

Museve Kyalilini Booster, Museve Market, Katia, Mutulukuni, Kwa Mukwa, Vinda, Makaani and adjacent customers. 

3. Bungoma county

 Sipala, Lwile Sipala, Lwile, Mihuu, Furoi, Mikuuva, Magemo, Mitukuyu, Sinoko Dispensary, Lutacho, Manafwa, Lukusi, Bakisa, Mabele, Lugulu Water, Webuye Ongwendivah, Webuye, Malaha Salvation Army, and adjacent customers. 

4. Kakamega county 

Butere Butere Girls, Butere Boys, Buchenya, Elukala, Eshisisia, Shinyalu, Buboko, Ibokolo, and adjacent customers will experience a blackout from 9.30am to 5pm.
