A family in Kiambu is demanding justice after their 23-year-old daughter was killed under unclear circumstances. The body of Seth Nyakio Njeri was found on Monday, 14 October 2024, in a rented apartment in the Biafra area of Thika in Kiambu County. Lucy Njeri, her mother, narrated in a Citizen TV report that Nyakio left their home on Saturday, October 12, looking very jovial. She said they stayed in contact until Sunday, October 13, but then could not reach her as her messages and phone calls went unanswered.
Feeling worried, a search mission was initiated but was not successful until they received a strange call from a friend saying the Zetech graduate was dead. “I found my daughter lying peacefully, a good soul; you could even think we were talking to each other because the bond and the friendship we shared had to depart from me,” stated the mother. Police say the assailant abused the deceased before committing the heinous act. Moreover, detectives have zeroed in on a male friend who was allegedly aggrieved after the two separated.
However, the theory that her aggrieved boyfriend killed her has been dismissed by the parents, saying the friend she visited in Thika has information about what might have transpired. “It was murder and so many other shocking things that no parent or everybody else would have liked to go through. I have been left with the trauma, the pain and shock,” Njeri stated. “I loved her so much, she was my only child,” she added. Nonetheless, police officers have interrogated the female friend the Zetech graduate visited as they continue probing the issue.
