Kenyan singer Jovial has called out unnamed producers, accusing them of leaking her unreleased music.
Just a week ago, Jovial had hinted to her fans that she was gearing up to release new music.
However, things seem to have taken an unfortunate turn. On her Instagram stories on October 9, the Coast-based artist expressed her frustration, describing the leak as a major setback.
“Some producers need to learn professionalism,” she wrote. In the music industry, a leak refers to material being made public without official consent, whether it was intended for release or never meant to be shared.
Leaks can happen at any stage, from recording to release week. The “Baishoo” hitmaker continued to express her disappointment, stressing the importance of confidentiality.
“When you work with an artist, it should remain confidential. Stop leaking their unreleased songs without their consent. It’s unprofessional and ignorant.”
Hinting at the possible actions she might take, Jovial warned, “I’ll stop being nice and have you locked up!” She concluded her statement with, “Some of us forgive, but we don’t forget.”
