A family in Kisii county is grateful after their son, who went missing six years ago, finally returned home safe and sound. Joash Momanyi flanked by relatives after being welcomed to Kisii county.  How did Momanyi get lost? In a sizzling interview on Getembe TV, it emerged that Joash Momanyi suddenly went missing, and his family had no idea where he was. According to the family, it is better to know that a loved one had died than to remain speculating; it hurt them deeply not knowing Momanyi’s whereabouts.  “We’re happy my grandson is back after many years. We heard he was in Litein and the parents went and found him. As a family we are happy,” said his grandfather.

“My son went missing from home on April 16, 2016. He was going to church and we looked for him fruitlessly. I searched for him in the streets of Kisii even at night,” said the relieved father. How did Momanyi’s parents find him? According to Momanyi’s mum, his aunt saw his video on TikTok and went to Litein to look for him. When she found him, she told his parents, and they went for him. “He said he did not know us, but the officer commanding station (OCS) told him I was the father. God has wiped our tears,” said Momanyi’s father.  For his part, Momanyi said he was in Kericho, where he grew up until his biological parents found him. “I’m in a college in Nakuru. I didn’t believe they were my parents (when they came for me) since it’s been a long since I saw them.

Before bringing me home, I had refused, but the guardian agreed, and I decided to come,” he said. “People cried in joy. The people who took him in were Good Samaritans, as they took good care of him,” added a villager.
