Veteran gospel artist and music producer David Kilonzo, popularly known as DK Kwenye Beat has shaved off his years-long signature dreadlocks.
Sharing a photo of his new look, a clean-cut medium afro with a trim, the father of one highlighted the new outward change in appearance as a reflection of the current changes happening within him and his life.
He accompanied the post with a lengthy caption which doubled as an open letter to God where he asked for strength and guidance among other supplications, to fill him as he embarked on his new journey. DK noted he was both uncertain and in equal measure excited for the path he was about to walk. The gospel artist however did not dive into what the changes or new path entailed.
“It’s Time for a New Beginning,” started off the ‘Sari Sari’ hitmaker.
He went on to in part add, “Heavenly Father, As I stand at the threshold of a new chapter in my life, I feel a mix of excitement and uncertainty. I know that with You by my side, I can face any challenge and embrace every opportunity that comes my way.
Lord, lead me. Guide my steps and illuminate my path.
Help me to trust in Your plan and to walk by faith, even when the way is unclear. Fill me with courage and strength to pursue the new beginnings You have set before me.
Grant me the wisdom to make the right decisions and the patience to wait for Your perfect timing. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard my heart and mind as l embark on this journey,”
Coming to a conclusion the gospel artist gave gratitude to God as he confirmed he was surrendering things to His control.
“Thank You for Your unfailing love and for the promise that You will never leave me nor forsake me. I surrender my fears and doubts to You, knowing that You are in control.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen,” the last of his post read.
Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first time DK has shaved off his locs. Back in 2016, the singer bid adieu to his lengthy dreads after growing them out for quite a while.
