Taita Taveta: High School Students Weep Painfully after Learning About Principal's Death

 

David Mombo, the Mzwanenyi Secondary School principal 

Tears flowed freely after the students of Mzwanenyi Secondary School in Taita Taveta heartbreakingly learnt about the death of their beloved principal. The students were inconsoloble after learning about their principal's death. David Mombo, the Mzwanenyi Secondary School principal, breathed his last on Sunday, September 15, at the Jocharm Hospital. Emotional pictures captured the moment Mombo's students learned he was no longer; they consoled each other during the difficult time. Teachers struggled to hold back their tears, but they also consoled the students who wept in pain. 

 Family, friends mourn Principal Mombo Pastors have since visited the school to encourage the learners during this tough time. "Bishop Liverson Mng'onda, Clergy, Parents and Education officials Consoling students following the death of Mzwanenyi Secondary School Principal Mr. David Mombo," ACK Diocese of Taita Taveta wrote on Facebook. Family and friends have also taken to Facebook to mourn the beloved principal. Here are some of the condolence and eulogising messages: "Death has robbed us of one of the best sons of our land!

 It is with a very heavy heart filled with grief that I convey my deepest condolences on the demise of Mwalimu David Mombo, who has since gone to be with the Lord," Anselm Mwadime Chao, an MCA, said. On his part, MCA Duncan Wangama said: "I am saddened by the news of the passing away of Mr. David Mombo Mwandagha, The principal of Mzwanenyi Secondary School. He was a progressive leader, Teacher, and mentor who worked tirelessly for greater and better performance in every capacity."  Shedrack Mutungi said: "It's a sad, dark Sunday, and death is cruel. It is unbelievable that we have lost David Mombo, Principal Mzwanenyi secondary school and Coast Region Sports Secretary, after a short illness."
