Mixed Reactions Among Kenyans as Apple Launches iPhone 16: “How Much in Nairobi?”

The iPhone 16 features notable upgrades, including new colour options with an aluminium finish, an action button, a faster 3nm A18 chip with a 2x faster neural engine, and a capacitive slider for camera controls. “Powered by the faster, more efficient A18 Pro chip and built for Apple Intelligence, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are the most advanced iPhone models we’ve ever made,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. 

What is the cost of iPhone 16 Prices for the iPhone 16 Pro start at about KSh 129,870 for the 128GB version, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max begins at around KSh 155,870 for the 256GB model. These prices, however, do not include taxes and shipping costs, which are expected to push the final retail price significantly higher in Kenya. How Kenyans reacted Online discussions about the device quickly highlighted concerns about the cost, with some Kenyans on X stating: @moneyacademyKE said: "The price will go over KSh 100k on top due to taxes and shipping costs in the first month, but it will reduce over time." @ChachaWazir said: "These prices are not tax included.
