Headteacher Evicts Intern Teacher from Staffroom, Asks Him to Work From Under Tree

A video has surfaced online showing a headteacher forcefully evicting an intern teacher from the staffroom and instructing him to work under a tree. Migori: Drama as Headteacher Evicts Intern Teacher from Staffroom, Asks Him to Work From Under Tree  In the viral video shared by Josee Joe, the Head of Institution (HOI) is captured ordering the junior to leave the staffroom. The intern teacher, however, protested the decision, asserting his right to work alongside his colleagues in the staffroom.  "Mr Ojola, I have every right to sit in the staffroom with other teachers," he argued, his voice filled with frustration.

Despite the intern's protests, the headteacher remained unmoved, even placing a plastic seat under a tree. The video sparked outrage on social media, with Kenyans expressing their disapproval of the headteacher's actions. Many condemned his action as a blatant display of disrespect and mistreatment. They took to social media to scold the headteacher for undermining the intern’s rights and dignity. Tum Tum: "This action is completely unacceptable and goes against the fundamental principles of fairness, respect, and dignity that we uphold in our institution." Kevin Wasilwa: "What kind of problem-solving mechanism is this?

A reasonable HOI would have handled the issue in a better manner." Ngoya Victor "This is callous, senseless, backward and inhumane. Who is this headteacher, surely? In a government institution? Shame on you." The incident has also sparked calls for the Teachers' Service Commission (TSC) to take swift action. Kenyans urged the commission to investigate the matter and institute disciplinary measures against the headteacher. Yator K Moses: "TSC Kenya will just keep quiet till this teacher is stressed and depressed then they will ask him to visit the County Mental health specialist, it's just sad what JS teachers are going through." As the video continues to circulate, the spotlight remains on the school and its administration. Many hope that the authorities will address the issue and ensure fair treatment for all teachers, regardless of their employment status.
