Eliud Kipchoge Visits ten Hag’s Side Ahead of Manchester United vs Liverpool

The two-time Olympic champion has seemingly put behind the heartbreak of failing to finish a marathon for the first time in his career. Eliud Kipchoge visits Manchester United players Kipchoge visited Manchester United's training base in Carrington a few hours after he left Barcelona. The English club is currently partly owned by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who acquired a minority stake in the club earlier this year.  The INEOS owner is also one of Kipchoge's sponsors. He was behind the 1:59 challenge in 2019 when Kipchoge became the first man to run a marathon in under two hours. However, the race was not recognised as a world record because it didn't adhere to World Athletics guidelines. The 39-year-old was seen talking to the recovering Mason Mount and Luke Shaw before taking a picture with the whole squad. Club captain Bruno Fernandes also gave him a shirt. Manchester United vs Old Trafford His visit to Manchester comes as the club prepares to host Liverpool in a mouthwatering clash on Sunday evening. Erik ten Hag's side will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing defeat against Brighton last time out. Liverpool, meanwhile, are yet to taste defeat under new manager Arne Slot, who replaced Jurgen Klopp in the summer.  Kipchoge reacts after Paris Olympics marathon TUKO.co.ke also reported that Kipchoge shared a moving message on Instagram to address his poor performance at the Olympics. He said it was a tough loss. Kipchoge was graceful in defeat and congratulated Tamirat Tola of Ethiopia for winning the race. Kenya's Benson Kipruto took a bronze medal. Kipchoge dropped out at around the 30-kilometre mark and appeared to have some discomfort in his waist.
