Akothee Finally Reveals Why Her Marriage to Omosh Ended

Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has revealed that her ex-husband Denis Schweizer, also known as Mister Omosh, hid many things from her before they got married in April last year, something that greatly upset her.
Speaking in an interview with presenter Gidi Ogidi on the "Gidi na Ghost Asubuhi" show, the 43-year-old artist disclosed that she later discovered internal issues that the Swiss man had concealed from her earlier, noting that she could not tolerate those lies.
Akothee explained that her ex-husband was dealing with certain mental health challenges but had not informed her about them before their official wedding.
"I can't say he was a jokester, but the things I later discovered were things I couldn't sit with because he hid them from me. That secrecy is what hurt me, and I thought if you are hiding this from me now, how much more will you hide from me later? How will I live? How will I trust you?" Akothee said.
She continued, "What made me leave him was that he didn't tell me his inner truth, that he had health challenges, specifically mental health issues. I'm not saying he was insane, but he had mental problems. He had something like bipolar disorder. When he told me, I asked him why he hadn’t told me before we got married and embarrassed me in front of people."
However, the mother of five noted that, like many other things, marriages too come to an end.
She also criticized men who take relationships lightly, urging them to be cautious, especially when dealing with women over 40-years-old.
"Even Big-G (a chewing gum) loses its sweetness, and you have to spit it out. You know marriage is a relationship between two people. You meet someone with 32 teeth, not knowing where they come from or where they are going, or how they are faring. You want love, but you don’t know what this person wants.
You know, at this age of 40, we don’t have time for jokes, we don’t like jokes. So if you are courting a woman in her 40s, this is the time for seriousness, don’t joke with us about marriage. Even if you just want to ask for water, we know you want to marry us. We believe you," she said.
Akothee separated from Omosh sometime in June, about two months after holding a lavish wedding with the Swiss man in Nairobi, Kenya.
