The incident happened along Haille Sellasie Road. The man, identified as Boaz, was caught in the act of stealing iron sheets early Monday morning, September 16, around 1am, on Haile Selassie Road. Boaz admitted to regularly stealing iron sheets and selling them to a scrap metal dealer due to the challenging economic conditions.
“I am a thief. I usually steal iron sheets from Greenpark and take them to Kim at Land Mawe,” Boaz stated. When asked about the sale, Boaz revealed that this was his first time dealing directly with the dealer. “I had never sold to him before. Today, I went to him because I was hungry. He asked me to bring the sheets,” he explained.
