A man is mourning his spouse, who passed away shortly after welcoming a bundle of joy. Seleman Shomary said delayed health services led to the death of his wife despite efforts to help her. His wife was in critical condition and needed to be transferred to another hospital for better services. “We had to pay for the ambulance, which I later found out was supposed to be free. I was told to pay KSh 8,500 so that we could access the ambulance services. I negotiated and paid KSh 4,700 first as my wife was being transported to another hospital,” he told Ayo TV. Shomary’s wife successfully delivered her baby, but her state worsened, and she unfortunately passed away. Shomary demands justice It pained Shomary knowing that his wife would be alive had the doctors checked her early enough instead of being taken in rounds and forced to pay for free services. “I want justice, and I want my money back.
I am requesting the government to intervene in this matter because it is unfair. After all the sacrifices, I received a call to be told the news,” the Tanzanian man said. The incident forced the residents to rally behind him and question the hospital and relevant authorities about why that happened.
