A man arrested siphoning diesel in Wajir |
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has reported the apprehension of a notorious break-in artist, Mukhtar Suleiman, 35, following a daring escapade at a telecommunications company facility.
The swift action of officers from Wajir Police Station led to Suleiman’s capture.
According to a post on the DCI’s official X account, intelligence received about the break-in at the Halane area during the early hours of Friday, August 2, 2024, prompted the officers’ immediate response.
“They caught the suspect red-handed as he was siphoning diesel from the facility.”
However, Suleiman’s accomplices managed to slip away into the cover of darkness, leaving him to face the consequences alone.
The DCI noted that upon processing the scene, officers recovered three full 20-litre jerrycans, one half-full 20-litre jerrycan of siphoned diesel, 14 empty 20-litre jerrycans, and a siphoning pipe.
Suleiman is currently being held at Wajir Police Station for processing pending arraignment, while the search for his accomplices continues.
