In a heartfelt appeal, Sharon Jemutai, a 20-year-old Kenyan citizen from Nandi County, has reached out to potential sponsors for financial support to pursue her post-secondary education. Nandi Girl Pens Emotional Letter Seeking Financial Help to Join College Sharon sat her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams in 2022 at Kapkole Secondary School and scored a C Plain of 45 points. However, due to financial constraints, she has been unable to collect her KCSE certificate as she still has outstanding school fee arrears. Coming from a humble background, Sharon's education journey has been challenging. "I only managed to complete my secondary education with assistance from well-wishers and harambee by neighbours and distant relatives," she wrote. In 2023, Sharon dedicated much of her time to assisting her mother with manual labour in various homesteads. She was involved in picking tea on farms to earn a modest income for their household. During this period, she became pregnant, a situation she deeply regrets. Despite these obstacles, Sharon remains determined to further her education and improve her life circumstances. She aspires to join college and pursue a Diploma in Primary Teacher Education, hoping to make her mother proud and achieve her dreams. Sharon is now reaching out to kind-hearted individuals, organizations, and institutions that might be willing to sponsor her education. She is hopeful that with the necessary financial support, she can revive her ambitions and contribute positively to society.by Hillary Lisimba
