A Mombasa man courageously confronted a traffic officer over allegations of soliciting bribes from public service vehicle operators. The Mombasa man criticised traffic officers for frequently giving matatu drivers a hard time while demanding bribes. What did the Mombasa man say? In a video circulating online, an elderly man dressed in a blue Kaunda suit is seen stepping out of a vehicle as he approaches the traffic officer. The elderly man then pointed at the officer, warning that he would have recorded a video of the officer's actions if he had attempted to solicit a bribe from the matatu he was standing beside. "If you would have taken a bribe, if you would have taken, I would've filmed you," the man said. The officer, appearing unfazed, walked past the man and proceeded to the other side of the matatu, instructing the driver to move the vehicle. The man then called out traffic officers, accusing them of demanding bribes from public service vehicle drivers. "You people are disturbing matatu drivers. You demand money from every matatu that passes near you," he added. How did netizens react? Kenyans took to social media to respond to the man's confrontation with a police officer, with some praising him for his bravery. El captain: "Jakom doesn't want nonsense." Miss Lauren: "They should stop playing." The Buffalo: "My ribs." Lil cool: "It's time for police officers to wrap up this bribery shenanigans."
